Celebrating New Year in Almaty, Kazakhstan 🇰🇿 - Part 2

It was one of the most amazing experience celebrating New Year in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Basically there are few places you can enjoy the city wide celebration from :

1- Kok Tobe : A hill station with panoramic view of the city with lots of fun family activities and picnic spots

2- Shymbulak : Biggest ski resort in Central Asia

3- Astana Square : City centre community place for cultural program

Since we had plans to spend full days at Kok-Tobe and Shymbulak, we decided to go to Astana Square for the New Year Eve. We went there at around 8PM, there were stalls, festive vibes, people from all over the city enjoying. We went to a nearby bar for quick drinks and came back around 11PM, by then the prime spots in front of the stage was gone but we could still enjoy everything from live shows, to concerts and what not. When the hour hand hit 12 there was an amazing firework show which went for 1 hour. You have to see the video above to experience it. This year it was not snowfall on the eve but it was still chilly at -6*C so layer up!!
